Dr. Barats graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 2000, followed by a residency in general dentistry at the university, where she taught and received advanced training in prosthetics, endodontics, surgery and cosmetic reconstruction.
Before coming to the United States, Lana completed dental school at the University of Perm, Russia, graduating with high honors. She also donated her time treating underserved people in Russia and children in public schools, and published a book used in pre-school and kindergartens to teach dental health and hygiene.
While pursuing her dental education in Russia, Lana was trained as a classical pianist, graduating from the Perm School of Music.
She is a longstanding and active member in the American Dental Association, American General Dentistry Association and the local dental society.
Lana's husband (Lev) is an Internal Medicine physician in Albany. They both reside in Bethlehem with their two beautiful children, and enjoy activities together, such as Girl Scouts, tennis, biking and just spending time with family and friends.
